Macleay Island State School is a Prep to Year 6 Primary School situated on picturesque Macleay Island in Moreton Bay, 15 minutes from the coast off Brisbane.
As an Island school with a small close population, we endeavour to maximise community involvement and this is highlighted by our celebrations of ANZAC Day, Australia Day and local community events.
The school works in partnership with our P&C Association who support our engagement with the community.
The school has a current enrolment of approximately 150 students and draws its enrolments from Macleay, Karragarra, Lamb and Russell Islands.
Our students come from a range of backgrounds and bring a diversity of resources and an enthusiasm for learning to the school.
By providing high expectations, a safe and supportive environment and providing challenging and engaging learning activities, every child will have the opportunity to achieve personal success.
The school is currently engaged in a curriculum renewal process and is a School Wide Positive Behaviour Support school delivering associated Anti-Bullying and Social Skills programs.
